Richard Roberts has tendered his resignation as President of ORU effective Friday, November 23rd, 2007. According to a statement by George Pearsons on the ORU website, “the Board of Regents will meet Monday and Tuesday, November 26 and 27, 2007 to determine action in the search process for a new president.” NY Times. This announcement came almost immediately after Trent Huddleston, a senior accountant for ORU, filed a lawsuit on Wednesday, November 21st, alleging “that he was ordered to help school president Richard Roberts and his wife ‘cook the books’ by hiding financial wrongdoing from authorities and the public.”
Regardless of this action by Roberts, Cornell Cross, quoted in this “hot off the press” article from JJ the AP writer, believes that “the culture of fear that has been allowed to fester at ORU has to be looked into.”
