Right after church on Sunday, Ryan said, “Let’s drive to San Diego!” So we did! FIRST, I wanted to take some photos at the school where we meet because I was inspired. You can see six of them on my flickr site (thanks Jazz!)! THEN, we left straight away for San Diego. Didn’t stop for gas, coffee, OR lunch! We hopped on the 10, then the 710, then the 5 and didn’t stop until we took the exit for Downtown SD.

Ryan stopped for gas and then we parked and wandered around the Gaslamp Quarter looking for a place to eat. We stopped at Henry’s (home of Red Sox fans) and enjoyed Blue Cheese Bacon Burgers. Once the BIG GAME was over we wandered through Z Gallery, the Ghirardelli Shop, and made our way back to our car.

THEN, we crossed the bridge (it’s paid for by the way) onto Coronado Island. We visited Lamb’s Players Theatre (hi Maria!), the beach, Hotel del Coronado (known to the locals as Hotel Del), and Cafe 1134. Then we hopped in the car and drove back to LA, making it home in record time.

It was a fun and out-of-the-ordinary day, thanks to my spontaneous husband!
